The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor is an American fifth-generation fighter with a markedly reduced radar signature. It carries its weapons in internal bays so as to keep the clean shape of the airframe, and it can fly at supersonic speed without the use of afterburning. It is precisely because of the stealth configuration that external tanks are not carried in combat use - they are hung on the underwing pylons for transfers and transits, when range outweighs low observability. A model with the tanks therefore looks credible above all on machines captured on a transit or on the ramp.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no release agent from the mold stays on them. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, and do the sanding wet and with protection for your airways. Glue the tanks with cyanoacrylate glue, and with larger parts the gel variant proves itself, as it gives time to line things up. Before gluing, check that both tanks hang at the same height and parallel to the axis of the fuselage - any asymmetry is immediately visible on a finished model. In color the tanks usually follow the gray camouflage shade of the airframe; evening the tone out is helped by a light pass of spray after gluing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The basic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
