A photo-etched metal fret in 1:48 scale for a model of the American F-35A combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35A is the single-seat form of the American fifth-generation combat aircraft with conventional takeoff and landing, that is, the version intended for land bases. The shape of the airframe is subordinated to reducing its radar cross-section, which is why it has faceted edges, flush-fitting panels and internal weapons bays. It is powered by a single turbofan engine. Alongside the A version there also arose a short-takeoff version and a version for carrier operations, which differ from one another in landing gear, wing and internal arrangement.
A photo-etched metal fret in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched parts are made at a thickness the plastic parts from a kit cannot reach, so they suit thin sheet details, frames and fine stiffeners. The extent of the fret and the kit it is worked out for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Leave the parts in the fret until their turn comes in the build, and cut them off with a sharp blade on a hard surface. Make the bends along the marked grooves over a straight edge. They are glued with super glue, which you dose with a pin or a piece of wire, because glue that overflows will fog the area around the joint. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and lay down a thin coat of primer. On an aircraft with a smooth surface, take care that a glued-on part does not stand out above the outline anywhere it should not.
The set is intended for modelers who want to replace coarser plastic parts with thin metal on an F-35A model in 1:48 scale. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
