About product

The real subject

The F-35B is the version of the F-35 Lightning II fighter built for short takeoff and vertical landing. A lift fan behind the cockpit and a swiveling nozzle let it work even from short strips and from ship decks without a catapult. The cockpit is laid out around a single large screen, so the instrument panel looks quite different from that of older machines and is recognizable at once on a model.

What the set solves

This is an Eduard accessory from the LööK range in 1:48 scale. It aims at the instrument panel, that is at the area most in view when the cockpit is open. The exact list of parts and the assembly procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions, which also tell you which part of the original kit has to be replaced or modified.

Building and painting tips

Where the parts are not polystyrene, cement for plastic models will not join them: use cyanoacrylate glue. Before you stick anything down, try the part dry and gently level any mating surfaces so that the cockpit can be put together without force once glued. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. The procedure for the individual parts is described in the manufacturer's instructions; keep to them even if you have built a similar set before.

Who it is for

The set suits a modeler who leaves the cockpit open and wants it to stand a close look. It will also be appreciated by anyone who builds faster and wants a single accessory to lift the most closely watched place on the model without rebuilding the whole interior. The contents of the delivery follow what the manufacturer states; the kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

It aims at the instrument panel, that is at the cockpit area. The exact contents of the package and the extent of the replacement are given in the manufacturer's instructions.

Sets in this range are made for a particular kit in a given scale. Check the 1:48 scale and the note on the target kit in the manufacturer's instructions.

Cyanoacrylate glue. This is not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models will not soften the material and the joint will not hold.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions. If you do paint, wash and degrease the areas first, otherwise the paint will not adhere well.
