This set is a fine photo-etched accessory intended for detailing a model of the American F-4C Phantom II fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane but a set of thin metal parts with which you replace or supplement selected plastic parts and thereby increase the realism of the model. Some of the parts tend to be color-printed for a faithful rendering of the instruments. The manufacturer is the Czech firm Eduard, a leading name in the field of photo-etched accessories.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat supersonic fighter-bomber, one of the most significant combat aircraft of the Cold War. The F-4C version was the first production variant for the US Air Force and was deployed on a large scale during the Vietnam War. The Phantom became famous for its performance, its versatility and its high weapons load.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife on a hard surface, and use a bending tool for photo-etched parts or an accurate ruler for the bends. Glue with cyanoacrylate (super glue) or with a slow-setting epoxy. Degrease and paint the unprinted brass parts; the color-printed parts do not have to be painted.
This is a detail accessory, not a model of an airplane. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
