1:48 F-4C Phantom TFace canopy frame paint mask, double-sided Eduard masks for the intricate glazing of the two-seat Phantom.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Eduard masking set for the American two-seat F-4C fighter-bomber in 1:48 scale, in the TFace form for the inner as well as the outer side of the glazing. These are accessories for painting; they do not replace a kit of the aircraft by their contents.
The F-4C was the version for the US Air Force, derived from the original naval form. The crew consisted of two men one behind the other, so the cockpit has two separate hinged sections with a fixed part between them. The framing is consequently long and divided, which makes tracing by hand a job for a whole evening. The type was among those machines that could not be mistaken for anything else: the massive fuselage, the anhedral horizontal stabilizers and the upturned wingtips give the Phantom a silhouette that even a layman recognizes.
The long straight frames will not take imprecise seating, because every deviation is visible along the whole length when seen from above. Proceed part by part, not all of them at once. Work the inner side before the glazing is joined to the fuselage. Apply the paint in several goes and lift the masks off while the layer is still freshly dried.
