1:48 F-4E Phantom II jet exhaust nozzles is a 3D-printed resin detail set that replaces the plastic exhausts with an accurate replica of the engine nozzles.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an aftermarket detail set in 1:48 scale, not the aircraft model itself. The set brings a pair of faithful exhaust nozzles of the J79 engines for the Phantom II in the E version, printed in resin by 3D printing with sharp rendering of the petals and inner plates that injection-molded plastic cannot reach. It replaces the original kit parts and markedly raises the realism of the rear end of the aircraft. The nozzles are designed for the F-4E kit from Meng.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II was a twin-engine supersonic fighter-bomber powered by General Electric J79 engines with afterburners. The characteristic long exhaust nozzles with their movable petals are among the most striking details of the whole airframe, and on a model they are the first thing a viewer notices.
Wash the residue of uncured print resin off the parts, separate them carefully from the print supports and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do the sanding with respiratory protection. The metal shades of the nozzles come into their own with tempera and lacquer metallics, followed by toning with pigments and washes for a heat-stressed surface.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
