A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand; this is not a stand-alone airplane model. The set holds finely cast landing gear doors in 1:48 scale for building the carrier-based McDonnell Douglas F-4J/S Phantom II fighter. The parts refine the shape and the thickness of the doors compared with ordinary injection-molded plastic.
The F-4 Phantom II was a two-seat twin-engine supersonic combat aircraft. The F-4J version and the upgraded F-4S served with naval aviation and were adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. The landing gear doors of these versions differ in shape from the land-based versions, which is why the set is worked specifically for the J/S configuration.
Before gluing, wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and dry-fit them. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); use respiratory protection while sanding. The doors are painted to match the landing gear and the bays.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
