An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Vought F-8J Crusader carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from Hasegawa. The package holds plastic parts and a decal sheet; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The F-8 Crusader was a carrier-based supersonic fighter of the US Navy, distinctive for its variable-incidence wing, which made landing on a carrier deck easier. The F-8J version was one of the later, upgraded machines and served during the Vietnam War. Power came from a single turbojet, and the main armament of cannons was supplemented by guided missiles.
Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement and lay down a primer before painting. The typical gray-and-white scheme suits US Navy carrier aircraft; airbrushing makes the smooth transitions and the emphasis on the panel lines easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
