Hobby Boss F/A-18F Super Hornet 1:48 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the two-seat carrier-based multirole fighter of the US Navy.

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. It captures the two-seat F version of the F/A-18F Super Hornet carrier-based multirole aircraft. The kit has a finely engraved surface texture, a glazed canopy from clear parts, a detailed two-seat cockpit and landing gear bays; photo-etched seat belts complete the seats. It is an extensive kit with a large number of parts.
The Super Hornet is the larger and more modern development of the original F/A-18C/D Hornet with a lengthened fuselage and an increased wing area, which created room for fuel and further equipment. It entered service with the US Navy at the end of the 1990s and gradually replaced the F-14 Tomcat carrier fighter. The two-seat F version has a second crew member (a weapons systems officer) behind the pilot and handles air combat as well as strike tasks.
Use liquid modeling cement on the joints of the plastic parts. Mask the glazed canopy before painting, unify the whole model with a primer and apply the shades with an airbrush. It is best to glue and paint the external stores and the tanks separately and to fit them at the very end, once the decals and a matte coat are on.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
