The hands decide whether a figure comes across as alive or stiff. This set offers ten pairs of female hands in different positions, so for each figure a gesture can be chosen that matches her story and her situation in the scene.
Figures supplied in series tend to have simplified palms and often in one position only. By exchanging them you gain a natural grip, an open palm or bent fingers holding an object. A female hand is moreover slimmer and has different proportions from a male one, so the exchange is clearly apparent on a finished figure even from a distance.
Cut the original palm off at the wrist and level the cut surface carefully. Offer the new part up dry, check its rotation relative to the body and only then fix it with a drop of super glue. Cover the joint with a thin layer of putty and sand it down. Build the skin tones from a darker base toward lighter layers, so that the fingers do not lose their volume; suggest the nails only with a shade, not with an outline.
The hands arrive with no coat of paint, still attached to the print grid, as a replacement for the original palms.
