A detail set of the exhaust nozzles for the British Phantom FGR.2 version in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that replaces the simplified nozzles from the base plastic kit with faithfully executed parts with fine inner as well as outer structure.
The Phantom FGR.2 was the British version of the twin-engine multirole F-4 Phantom II aircraft, operated by the Royal Air Force. Compared with the American versions it used British engines, which showed in the shape and the execution of the rear end and the exhaust nozzles, and that is why a specialized set suits a faithful model.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. The metal shades of the nozzles come into their own once painted and the details picked out gently.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
