1:48 Firefly Mk.I is a set of self-adhesive Eduard painting masks in 1:48 scale for a model of the Firefly Mk.I type. It is not a model but an accessory for painting the glazing and the wheels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape for a model of the Fairey Firefly Mk.I carrier-based aircraft in 1:48 scale. The masks make it easier to spray the frames of the glazed cockpit and the wheel discs cleanly, without laborious cutting. It is not a kit — it is an accessory used while painting a finished or part-built model. Eduard is a Czech maker of modeling accessories.
The Fairey Firefly was a British two-seat carrier-based fighter and reconnaissance aircraft of the Second World War period. The Mk.I version was powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon V engine and served with the Fleet Air Arm. It was notable for a good service ceiling and for armament in the wings.
The pre-cut masks in self-adhesive kabuki tape are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and onto the wheel discs, pressed into the engraved lines of the frames with a pointed wooden stick, and then the area is sprayed. Once the paint has dried the tape is lifted off and the framing stays clean and crisp. An airbrush gives an even coat. The masks cover the framing of the long two-seat cockpit.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit itself, the paints and the glue are not included in the package and are obtained separately.
