A replacement radiator in 1:48 scale for a model of the British Fairey Firefly Mk.I carrier aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fairey Firefly Mk.I was a British two-seat carrier aircraft that served with the Fleet Air Arm in the Second World War for fighter work and reconnaissance. The crew consisted of a pilot and an observer, and the wing folded for stowage on a carrier. The engine was liquid-cooled, so the radiator was one of the features that marked the shape of the nose strongly.
This is a finished replacement part that takes the place of the kit radiator on a model. Accessories of this kind are bought because a separately produced part can manage a finer rendering of the grille and thinner walls than a split plastic part from the kit allows. The set is cut for a particular kit in 1:48 scale; check it against the manufacturer's instructions.
The part is not polystyrene, so cement for plastic has no effect on it; make the joint with super glue. Try the part dry in the opening first and open the seat out if needed, and only then glue it. Cut any excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder flush. Before painting, wash it in lukewarm soapy water, degrease it and apply a primer. The inside of the radiator comes out better if you darken it before gluing it into the fuselage.
The set is an accessory for a kit. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
