The subject is the fuselage armament of the Fw 190F-8, that is, the weapons housed in the forward fuselage above the engine, including their installation. A resin casting can capture shapes and surface detail that injection-molded plastic simplifies. The set shows itself mainly on builds with the panels opened up, where the installation is visible. The package is an accessory for a plastic kit and does not contain the model itself.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a single-engine fighter with the BMW 801 radial engine, built in many variants. The F-8 version was the ground-attack form of the type, derived from the A-8 series and intended for attacks on ground targets. Part of the armament on the type was housed in the fuselage ahead of the cockpit and fired through the propeller disc, while further weapons were carried in the wing roots. The arrangement of the armament differed between versions, which matters when building a particular variant.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a cutting disc and finish with a scalpel; snapping them off will break the thin parts. Protect your airways when sanding. Gluing with super glue only. Painting: a primer, a dark steel or graphite shade and finally a fine dry brush in a metallic color on the edges. The installation comes into its own once a dark wash is run into the recesses.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model or a replacement for one. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
