Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter biplane Fokker D.VII in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The OAW designation refers to the licensed production at the Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke company. Eduard offers this kit in several editions (ProfiPACK, Weekend and reboxes), which differ in their extras (photo-etch, masks) and in the number of decal schemes. We recommend checking the particular edition and the contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Fokker D.VII is considered one of the best fighters of the First World War. It stood out for its excellent handling at low speeds and its ability to climb even close to the stall. It was powered by inline engines (Mercedes or BMW) and carried a pair of machine guns. Its qualities were so widely acknowledged that it was expressly named in the armistice among the equipment Germany had to hand over to the Allies.
On a biplane the key step is fitting the upper wing and the interplane struts, so work patiently and with jigs to keep the correct angles. Count on bracing wires for the rigging, which give the model a realistic look; the tensioning wires are most often simulated with thin thread. Apply the typical five-color printed lozenge camouflage carefully as a decal over a gloss coat. Paint the interior and the engine before closing up the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
