1:48 Fw 190 A-2/A-3 is an Omask masking set for models of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in the A-2 and A-3 versions in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor decals.

Masking sets are supplied as pre-cut self-adhesive templates that are stuck onto the model and cover the areas that are to stay free of paint. It is neither a kit nor a sheet of decals. The typical use is covering the glazing and the frames of the canopy, where masking by hand with tape takes hours and still does not give such a sharp transition. The set is intended for the early versions of the Fw 190 in 1:48 scale.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a single-engine fighter aircraft with a radial engine, a wide landing gear track and a teardrop canopy with a good view. The A-2 and A-3 versions were among the early production variants and differed above all in the form of the engine and the composition of the armament. The shape of the canopy is characteristic of these versions, and during the build it is precisely the canopy that decides how the model comes across, so it pays to unmask it cleanly.
The surface of the model has to be clean and degreased, otherwise the mask will not hold and paint will creep under it. Peel the individual pieces off with tweezers or the tip of a scalpel, lay them in place and press them down with a cotton swab, especially carefully all the way around the frame. Spray the paint in several thin coats; a thick coat will form a ridge on the edge that stays visible once the mask is removed. The first coat should be in the color of the inside of the frames, and only then comes the outer shade. Take the mask off shortly after drying, not after several days, when the adhesive has usually cured.
The package contains only the masks. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
