This is an aftermarket set of photo-etched metal meant for improving the plastic kit of the vehicle given in the name of the product. The set is sold separately and does not hold a kit. The maker is the Czech brand Hauler, which has long specialized in photo-etched and resin accessories for 1:35, 1:48 and 1:144 scales.
The GAZ-AAA was a three-axle truck of Soviet manufacture, derived from the two-axle GAZ-AA type. It served as a universal load carrier and also as a chassis for a range of special bodies. One of these was a quadruple mount with 7.62 mm Maxim machine guns, that is, water-cooled weapons coupled into one installation. The assembly was used to defend columns and rear areas against low-flying targets, and also for firing at ground targets.
Photo-etch has a substantial advantage over injection-molded plastic: it can capture thin sheet parts in the correct thickness, which is not possible with plastic. Cut the parts out of the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, and never tear them out. Make the bends in a bender or between two blades, so that the edge stays straight. Before painting, degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a thin coat of primer, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. It is bonded with super glue, ideally spot by spot from a needle; cement for plastic does not work on metal. The cooling jackets of the machine guns and the small grilles stand out when you bring them up lightly with a dry brush after the base color.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit, which is not included in the package. It is supplied unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
