1:48 Gladiator Mk.I is a photo-etched detail set for a kit of this biplane in 1:48 scale that you have already bought: it is not a model but an accessory cut for one particular kit, the Roden one.
Responsibility details are not available.
A fret of thin photo-etched sheet from the Czech maker Brengun, intended for completing a plastic model you already have. The set is designed for one particular kit, the Roden one, so the dimensions of the parts match its shapes. The composition of the fret is given by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set.
The Gloster Gladiator Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the second half of the 1930s, the last biplane fighter in the armament of the Royal Air Force. It had fixed landing gear and, as one of the first British fighters, an enclosed cockpit. In construction it is a frame covered with fabric with a richly articulated interior of the fuselage, and that is precisely why photo-etched metal pays off on it more than on the later all-metal types: latticework, stiffeners and small fittings are well seen on a biplane.
With a biplane one rule holds above all others: whatever is to be inside has to be finished before you glue the fuselage halves together. So set out the sequence in advance and fit the photo-etched metal into the cockpit in the first phase of the build. Cut the parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface and sand the tabs down. Bend in a bending tool in one movement; anneal hard sheet briefly over a flame so that it does not crack. Before painting, degrease with alcohol and use a primer, or the paint will rub off the smooth metal while the model is handled, and with a biplane a model is handled a great deal, especially at the struts and the rigging. It is glued with super glue in a minimal amount.
A supplementary set. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
