1:48 Glasses, German Army WWII brings forty pieces of glasses in four shapes for figures of German soldiers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set offers four different shapes of service glasses of the kind worn by members of the German armed forces, ten pieces of each type, forty pairs in all. They were made by the Czech brand Firma49 by printing from resin at high resolution, which holds even a thin frame.
Glasses are the small thing that gives a figure a character at once. A soldier with frames looks like a radio operator, a clerk or a reservist called up in the last year of the war, not like an anonymous figure out of a box. The high number of pieces allows for a pair being lost or damaged during the work. The supply will last for several scenes under way and you do not have to be sparing with it even when trying out how the glasses sit on a given face.
Carry the frames with tweezers with fine tips and glue them with a drop of super glue applied with a pin. Finishing the figure first, including the skin, and attaching the glasses at the very end proves itself. The metal of the frame is managed by silver or dark steel applied with the tip of a brush only, and the lenses can be suggested with a drop of gloss varnish which reflects the light once it has dried. If the figure holds the glasses in a hand or has them tucked behind a shoulder board, that looks livelier still than the classic fitting on the nose.
Neither figures nor paints are supplied with the set.
