A model of the French Gnome-Rhône 14M radial engine in 1:48 scale as an accessory to the build of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Gnome-Rhône 14M was a French air-cooled radial engine with fourteen cylinders arranged in two rows in tandem. It was among the smaller powerplants of its class and it powered, among others, the French Potez 63.11 and the German Henschel Hs 129 ground-attack aircraft in the B version.
A radial engine is a rewarding detail: it has the deep relief of the cooling fins, the pushrods and the branching exhaust routing. The accessory suits anywhere the engine stays visible, that is, under a hinged cowling, on a stand beside the model or in a diorama of a field workshop.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the cylinders in a dark shade and draw the fins out with a dry brush, so that the relief stands out; set the crankcase apart with a lighter metallic tone. You can add the ignition harness with fine wire, which on a radial engine is the most effective small touch of all. Finally, test dry whether the engine will pass through the cowling on your kit, and only then glue it in.
This is an accessory to the build of a model. Paints, glue, wire for the ignition harness and a model of the aircraft are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
