A set in 1:48 scale for the Greek F-16C Block 52 of the Zeus demonstration team: a decal sheet joined by resin conformal fuel tanks and a brake chute container.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Greek Air Force is among the largest European users of the F-16, and its demonstration machine nicknamed Zeus appears regularly at air shows across Europe. The Greek machines differ from an ordinary Fighting Falcon at a glance in two details: conformal fuel tanks sitting against the upper fuselage along the wing root, and a brake chute container at the foot of the fin. The display finish adds a color treatment to that which you would not find on a combat machine.
A decal sheet for the display version of the 2014 season and, with it, resin parts, namely the conformal fuel tanks and the brake chute container. The combination therefore covers both the finish and the differences in shape of the Greek version. The scope of the sheet and the number of parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Wash and degrease the resin parts first, cut surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder back; they are glued with super glue, since ordinary cement for plastic models does not hold on them. Lay the tanks on dry and adjust the mating surface by sanding, so they sit against the fuselage with no gap. The decals, on the other hand, are transferred with water: overcoat the surface beneath them with a gloss varnish, soak the motif in lukewarm water, let it stand, slide it off the paper and blot the surplus water away. Settle the large colored areas of the display finish with a softener in stages, not all at once.
The paints, the glue and modeling tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
