Grumman F-14A Tomcat panels for both cockpits, 1:48 from Red Fox Studio replace the bare areas in the cockpits of the two-seat fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This interior set from Red Fox Studio is aimed at the station of the pilot and of the weapons systems officer of the two-seat Tomcat. The panels are laid down like a decal and fill the smooth areas that the kit leaves. The item is cut for the Great Wall Hobby model, since the brand also offers an identical set in a version for the Italeri kit. The aircraft itself is not in the package.
The F-14A was created for the long-range defense of carrier groups. The variable-sweep wing changed shape with speed automatically, and a powerful radar together with long-range missiles allowed targets tens of kilometers away to be engaged. The crew consisted of the pilot in front and the officer in the rear, who operated the radar and the guidance. The machine entered service in the early 1970s. The rear cockpit differed fundamentally from the front one, because instead of flight instruments it was filled with screens and the keyboards of the weapons system.
Deal with the two cockpits separately and keep comparing them with the tubs so that the panels do not get swapped. The base has to be flat, otherwise ripples form in the corners. Finish both the front and the rear section before you set the whole part into the fuselage.
