An injection-molded plastic kit of the American carrier-based fighter Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The model is meant to be assembled and painted and offers markings for US Navy aircraft. Eduard releases this type in several editions, which differ in the accessories and in the number of marking schemes.
The F6F Hellcat was a rugged carrier fighter of the US Navy that became one of the key weapons of the war in the Pacific. It stood out for its tough structure, the strong output of its radial engine and its good armament, which gave it the upper hand over its Japanese opponents. The F6F-3 version was the first widely produced variant, operated from the decks of aircraft carriers as well as from land bases.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Finish and paint the cockpit before closing the fuselage. A primer is recommended, along with an airbrush for the naval blue-gray shades and a clear coat under the decals. Where the edition includes photo-etched parts, use super glue.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
