The resin instrument panel Eduard LööK for the Grumman TBF-1C Avenger in 1:48 scale goes into the cockpit finished and painted. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The LööK range solves the most prominent place in a cockpit in the most direct way: it supplies the instrument panel as a finished, painted resin part on which the instruments, the dials and the glass are all worked out at the factory. Photo-etched steel seat belts are usually enclosed with a panel of this range. The set is neither a model nor an aircraft kit; it is an accessory for a model in 1:48 scale.
The instrument panel from a kit is usually only suggested and calls for patient painting, dotting and finally a drop of gloss on every dial. A finished part does away with that work and brings sharper detail than injection molding could produce at all. The difference shows most on models with the canopy slid open, where every visitor to a display case looks into the cockpit.
The Avenger was an American carrier-based torpedo bomber with a crew of three and a roomy bomb bay. The TBF-1C version came from Grumman production and, against the first machines, had heavier armament in the wing and the ability to carry extra fuel, which increased its range over the vast Pacific. The type made its mark from the fighting at Midway to the end of the war and served with Allied navies as well.
Before gluing, wash the resin part in warm water with detergent, so that no mold release agent from the mold is left on the surface. Cut off any excess casting blocks with a saw or a cutter, not by breaking them. Bond with super glue, because ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Try the panel dry before gluing it in, to see whether it fits into the cockpit tub, and if necessary modify the surrounding plastic rather than the finished part.
