On a dual-action airbrush the trigger is the most heavily stressed control. Pressure downward opens the air supply, a pull backward moves the needle out and the paint starts to flow. This original Gaahleri replacement part carries the profile designated as type C and the manufacturer lists it for the airbrushes of the Ace line.
For its models the brand offers several shapes at once: besides type C there are type R, type T and a pistol trigger. The difference lies in the surface the index finger rests on, and therefore in how finely the paint can be metered during long work. Some prefer a more pronounced resting surface, others reach for a lower profile. The choice is a matter of habit, of the size of the hand and of whether the work is done on large areas or on fine drawing.
Check the type designation of your airbrush. Replacement parts for the Advanced, Ace, Premium and Mobius lines are not freely interchangeable with one another with this brand, and there is a difference within one line as well depending on the particular model. The replacement itself is a matter of a few minutes and anyone who routinely takes the airbrush apart for cleaning will manage it. A spare piece in the drawer is worth having.
