This accessory from the Brassin range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains detailed resin landing gear wheels with a smooth (untreaded) tire for a model of the Grumman TBF-1C/TBM-3 Avenger carrier bomber and torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft: it replaces the plastic wheels from the base kit.
The resin wheels carry fine detail on the hub as well as the tread and are usually cast with realistic flattening where they meet the ground, so the model looks as if it were standing on its own weight. The set as a rule contains the main wheels and the tail wheel, and often also a mask for clean painting of the tires.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are glued with cyanoacrylate (superglue). Paint the tires dark gray rather than black and set the hubs apart from them; the mask included helps to separate the colors.
The accessory is supplied as a resin set. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
