Cut masks for the cockpit frames and the wheels for a model of the attack versions of the Hawker Hunter, scale 1:48.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hunter began as an elegant day fighter, but it served longest in the form described by the designations FGA.9, FR.10 and GA.11. The Mk.9 received a more powerful engine, pylons for bombs and unguided rockets and better cockpit cooling for service in Aden and in the Far East. The reconnaissance Mk.10 exchanged some of its instruments for three cameras in the nose, while the Mk.11 served the Royal Navy for training pilots. In the inventories of foreign users these machines lasted until the 1990s.
Anyone building a Hunter in a Middle Eastern desert scheme will appreciate that the sharp frames will not disappear under the sand shade. Light matte colors blur every soft transition even more than it looks once sprayed.
The stencils only make sense at the moment the model is sprayed with primer and the finished camouflage. The frames around the cockpit are usually covered first with the interior shade and only then with the external coat, so that the transition looks right from both sides. The material will take two or three oversprays without lifting in the corners. A thin coat of clear varnish applied over the edge of the mask moreover seals the edge and prevents seepage under the film.
In the package there are masks for the canopy frames as well as circular cutouts for the wheels. They are cut for the molding from Airfix in this size, because older moldings have bars of a different width and the spacing does not fit. The delivery holds neither the paint shades nor the kit, so count on them separately.
