A detail set combining the cockpit and the wheel (landing gear) bays for the Heinkel He 162A jet aircraft in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Aires. It is a resin accessory that replaces the basic cockpit interior and the landing gear bays of a plastic kit with finely detailed assemblies: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, a seat and faithfully structured bays.
The He 162 was a German single-engine jet aircraft from the very end of the Second World War, conceived as a simple fighter that could be built quickly. Its characteristic features were the twin tail and the engine mounted above the fuselage. The He 162A version was the basic production variant of the type.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use respiratory protection while sanding. Both the interior and the bays come into their own once painted and the details picked out gently with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
