The Soviet high-explosive aircraft bomb FAB-50 in the SV variant in 1:48 scale is a resin accessory for a store under the wing or the fuselage of an aircraft being built.
Responsibility details are not available.
A casting of a period Soviet aircraft bomb, meant as a store under a model being built. It is not a model of an aircraft or a standalone kit; it is an accessory that replaces or completes the armament contained in the base package. The letters SV in the designation distinguish one of the structural forms of this bomb.
The FAB range was among the most widespread Soviet high-explosive aircraft armament of the Second World War. The bombs were carried by ground-attack, bomber and fighter machines, often several pieces at a time on underwing pylons or in a bomb bay. It was exactly the lighter types that appeared with machines for the direct support of ground units, because an aircraft could carry more of them and could divide them into several sorties.
First wash the part, so that no release agent stays on the surface, otherwise the paint will peel. Cut the casting block off with a saw with fine teeth and level the surface, so that the bomb seats on the pylon straight. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue; a classic cement for polystyrene has no effect here. When sanding, protect your breathing and work wet. In color the bombs come off best when, after the base shade, you add fine rubbing on the edges of the fins.
