Montex 1:48 Ilyushin Il-28T is a masking set for the outside and the inside of the glazing, with masks for national insignia. An accessory for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set covers both sides of the framing of the glazed areas and adds masks for national insignia. There are no model parts in it — this is an accessory for a kit you already own. On the Il-28 that is welcome help: the glazed navigator's nose, the pilot's canopy and the rear gun position form three separate units, each with its own framing.
The Ilyushin Il-28 was a Soviet twin-engine jet bomber of the late 1940s, carried under the NATO reporting name Beagle. It had a straight wing, engines in nacelles under the lifting surfaces and a crew of three. The Il-28T version was a torpedo-carrying conversion for naval aviation with a modified bomb bay.
Large glazed areas forgive the fewest mistakes, so spray thinly and rather in several passes. With natural metal, which is common on this type, remember that a metallic coat will show every irregularity beneath it — so polish the surface before masking and go over it with a gloss base. Stir metallic paint thoroughly, as the pigment settles to the bottom. Remove the masks carefully; metallic finishes are hard to touch up.
The package holds masking templates only. The model, paints and decals are not part of it.
