A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the three-engine Junkers Ju-52/3m aircraft. It adds fine features to a kit that cannot be made from plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Junkers Ju-52/3m is a three-engine all-metal aircraft that can be recognized from a distance by its corrugated metal skin and its fixed landing gear. It flew as a transport machine and as a military transport, carrying cargo, passengers and paratroopers, and it stayed in service long after the war. It earned its reputation through toughness and simplicity: it carried a lot, made do with a short unpaved strip and put up with rough handling. Among modelers it is one of the types you recognize at first sight.
This is a set of photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet. Photo-etch manages what injection-molded plastic is too coarse for: instrument panels, seat belts, small frames, grilles and buckles. The parts are held in the fret by small tabs and are taken off one by one, only when their turn comes during the build. Which parts the set contains and where they belong is described in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remainder of the tab down; nipping the parts off deforms the sheet. Make the bends over a metal edge or in a bending tool, so that they form exactly at the marked place. Use glue sparingly; a drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin is enough, as cement for polystyrene will not bond metal. Before painting, degrease the sheet and lay down a base coat intended for metal. Fit the features for the cabin and the cargo compartment before you close the fuselage up.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
