A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This set of finely cast resin from the Quickboost (Aires) brand brings the wheels of the German Junkers Ju 87 Stuka dive bomber without the aerodynamic landing gear spats in 1:48 scale. The Stuka had fixed landing gear with prominent wheel spats; on the muddy Eastern Front, however, the spats were often taken off so that mud would not pack into them, and the wheels were thus left uncovered. This set models precisely that state.
Uncovered wheels give a model an authentic front-line atmosphere and a different, period-faithful look to the landing gear. The casting captures a realistic profile of the tire tread and the definition of the hub, and on a loaded tire often a slight flattening at the contact patch as well, so the machine looks as if it really were standing on the ground. It is a rewarding detail for a diorama of a front-line airfield.
