Vacuum-formed canopy Nakajima Ki-43 II 1:48 (Rob Taurus) is a crystal-clear canopy to replace the plastic part from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A crystal-clear vacuum-formed (vacuform) canopy from the Czech manufacturer Rob Taurus, intended to replace the injection-molded part from the kit for models of the Japanese army fighter Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa, version II, in 1:48 scale. This is not an aircraft model, but a modeling accessory for truer and cleaner cockpit glazing.
A vacuum-formed part has thinner walls and better clarity than standard plastic canopies, so the impression of thick glass disappears. The canopy of the Ki-43 II therefore looks natural and the part makes it easier to show the hood open.
Cut the canopy out carefully around the edge, sand the edges and try the fit dry. It is bonded with clear PVA glue or with spots of super glue, so that the surfaces do not fog. Dipping it in a modeling polish increases the clarity. Mask the frames before painting.
This is a clear replacement canopy, not a complete kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
