A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, from the Brassin line. It is not an aircraft kit, but an accessory for completing a larger kit: a set of barrels for the onboard guns of the Japanese Ki-61-Id Hien fighter in 1:48 scale. The package contains fine resin barrels. Always check compatibility with your base model.
Protruding gun barrels are thin, and the coarseness of plastic or traces of the mold show on them easily. Crisply cast resin barrels have a faithful profile and replace the softer plastic parts from the box. The set refines the look of the armament on Ki-61-Id Hien models.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts and cut off the fine casting blocks with a sharp knife and a delicate touch, so that the slender barrels do not snap. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A metallic look for the barrels is helped along by a dark base and gentle emphasis with graphite or a metal paint. Protect your breathing when sanding resin.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
