A set of photo-etched parts for the cockpit of a model of the Czechoslovak Aero L-29 Delfin trainer in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Aero L-29 Delfin is a Czechoslovak jet trainer on which whole generations of pilots from the Eastern Bloc countries learned to fly. It is powered by a single turbojet, to which air is led by side intakes on the flanks of the fuselage. Conspicuous features are the horizontal tail set at the top of the fin and the two-seat tandem cockpit, where the instructor's rear seat is slightly raised. It is precisely the glazed cockpit that is most on show on a model.
Photo-etched metal parts for the cockpit of an L-29 model in 1:48 scale. Photo-etching makes it possible to make parts as thin as they cannot be molded in plastic, which pays off in a cockpit: levers, frames, belts and instrument panels inevitably look too bulky in plastic. The list of parts, their placement and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so check the match with your own model in advance.
Finish the cockpit before you glue the fuselage halves together, as afterwards you will no longer reach it. Separate a part from the carrier fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than by twisting, and make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate applied with a pin; an excess will run into the engraving. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and give those that are not supplied in a color finish a primer intended for metal. Before you close the cockpit up, look into it through the glazing: there is no point in refining what will not be visible from there.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
