This resin detail set contains faithfully cast exhaust manifolds for the LaGG-3 fighter in the Series 35 version in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit that replaces the simplified plastic exhausts with finely rendered parts with hollow openings. It is not a standalone aircraft model.
The LaGG-3 is a Soviet single-engine fighter from the beginning of the Second World War, built around a wooden and plywood fuselage structure. The later production series differed from the early aircraft in a number of details, among them the design of the exhaust manifolds. The exhausts are exactly the kind of feature that base kits render in a simplified way.
Wash the parts to remove mold release, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhausts come into their own once painted in metallic and rust shades with the heat-stressed areas lightly brought out.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
