A pair of LAU-33 launchers for unguided Zuni rockets in 1:48 scale. An accessory for aircraft models; on its own it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Zuni is an American unguided aircraft rocket 127 mm in diameter with folding fins that open only after the rocket leaves the tube. It was used for fire support of ground troops and against area targets, and compared with earlier rockets of smaller diameter it brought a markedly heavier warhead. It is carried in underwing launchers mounted under the wing or under a stub wing; the LAU-33 is one of them.
Two LAU-33 launchers in 1:48 scale. The package therefore covers the stores on both sides of the machine without having to buy the set twice. Which kit the parts are drawn for and exactly where the store belongs on the wing is given in the manufacturer's instructions; photographs of the particular machine you are building are a further guide.
The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary modeling cement will not work on them; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the rest back, so that the mating surface stays flat and the launcher hangs vertically. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint them separately from the model and fit them only after the base coat on the lower wing surface, otherwise you will not reach under them with a brush or an airbrush. Pick out the mouths of the tubes in a dark shade so that they do not look blanked off.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
