This item is a detail set, not an aircraft kit. It contains resin (3D-printed) parts of the General Electric turbochargers which on the Lockheed P-38J Lightning fighter sat on the upper side of both engine booms. Faithfully rendered blades and covers replace the simplified plastic part and raise the detail of a visible part of the powerplant.
The P-38J Lightning was a twin-engined fighter with its characteristic twin-boom layout. The General Electric turbochargers mounted on the upper side of the booms were a prominent and easily recognized feature of the airframe; their detail is one of the places on a model that catch the eye.
Wash the parts and remove the supports from the 3D printing. Separate the fine blades carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the metal parts in steel and burnt metal shades, add a dark wash to bring the recesses out and suggest heat discoloration around the exhaust paths.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
