This is an accessory set for detailing models, dioramas and figures, not a kit on its own. It contains a miniature of the American M72 LAW light single-use antitank rocket launcher in 1:48 scale. It comes into its own as a weapon for infantry figures, as gear stowed on a vehicle, or as a small detail in a scene.
The M72 LAW is an American light antitank weapon of 66 mm caliber with a telescoping tube that is extended before use, which flips the sights up. The weapon entered service in the 1960s, was made in many versions and is still used by a whole range of armies today. For the modeler it is interesting precisely because of its two appearances — the collapsed tube looks quite different from the extended one, so it is worth deciding in advance which state you want it in within the scene.
The casting is slender and bends easily, so separate it with a scalpel on a cutting mat and never lever it off. Sand the gates with fine abrasive paper and wash the part in lukewarm soapy water before painting. The material of small accessories varies: glue resin with cyanoacrylate glue and injection-molded plastic with cement for polystyrene. The painting is simple — a matte olive or gray-green base, a careful dark wash and a dry brush on the edges. One detail worth adding is a suggestion of the lettering on the tube in a fine light shade; in 1:48 scale a hint is enough, as literal lettering looks unconvincing.
This is an accessory set for modelers, not a toy. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
