The Martin-Baker Type 9B ejection seat in its Mk.2 version is rendered in 1:48 scale and replaces the stock part in the Jaguar GR.1 and GR.1A kit from the brand Airfix. This item comes without the harness straps, which will please anyone who makes the belts his own way. The manufacturer also makes a version with the belts and the same pair in the Mk.3 version.
The Anglo-French Jaguar started out as an advanced trainer, but in the end it became above all a ground-attack aircraft. It served with the Royal Air Force from the 1970s and went through combat deployment in the Persian Gulf and over the Balkans. It was powered by a pair of Adour jet engines that made it fast at low level, and its pilots valued above all its calm behavior at low altitudes.
Cut the original seat out of the kit together with its base and sand the area flat. Try the resin casting dry and only then glue it, because an ejection seat tends to be visible in the cockpit from every angle. Choose the colors so that the metal frame, the cushion upholstery and the warning-marked controls are clearly told apart.
It is an upgrade part for the cockpit; the plastic kit is a separate product.
