The G-6 version was built in greater numbers than any other form of the type and so became the face of the German fighter force in the second half of the war. Its recognition feature became the prominent covers over the engine cowling, which were nicknamed bumps and which were called for by the larger breeches of the synchronized 13 mm machine guns. A number of machines were additionally given underwing cannon gondolas intended against bomber formations, which however took a great deal away from their agility in combat with escort fighters. It was precisely this conflict between the role of bomber hunter and classic fighter that accompanied the last years of the type in service. The version went through practically every front, from the Mediterranean to the defense of its own territory.
The harness is printed in its final colors including the metal components and has a three-dimensional profile, so once seated it does not look flat. German seats with an armored headrest offer enough room at this scale for the result to be visible even through a closed canopy once finished.
Let the varnished seat cure overnight and polish the area under the harness with a glossy layer. Transfer the released part with a brush, seat it over the seat back and press it down with a soft swab. Let the ends fall freely over the edge while the material is pliable. The following day even the surface out with matte varnish, and only then close the cockpit up. The rest is done by the shadow under the strap, which will stand up even to a close look.
