The 1:48 Messerschmitt Bf-109E National Insignias masking set from the Dead Design brand serves for spraying the national insignia instead of using decals.

A masking set from the Dead Design brand in 1:48 scale, aimed according to the name at the national insignia of the Bf-109E. The markings are not sprayed over a decal but applied directly in paint through a mask, so no carrier film and no glossy edge is left on the surface. It is neither a kit nor a decal sheet, but a set of masks.
The Bf-109E carried its markings on the fuselage, on the lower and upper surfaces of the wing and on the vertical tail. The areas beneath them are mostly smooth, but at the wing root and on the fuselage beside the cockpit they are curved, so the mask needs a little feel when it is laid down there.
With markings it is the edge that decides. Once the mask is stuck down, run a wooden toothpick or the edge of a fingernail all the way around the perimeter and press it in - an unsmoothed edge is exactly where the paint gets under the mask and turns a crisp shape into a smudged blot. A trick with the base color helps too: spray lightly over the stuck-down mask in the shade of the surrounding finish first, let it dry and only then spray the color of the marking. Any bleed then happens in the base color and will not show. Keep the coats thin, as a heavy coat runs under the mask of its own accord.
The set holds masks only. The model, paints and clear coat are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
