The small Eduard 1:48 rudder pedals for early versions of the Messerschmitt Bf-109E add-on set replaces a simplified part in the cockpit. An add-on for a kit, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The small set deals with one particular detail: the rudder pedals in the cockpit of the Emil. In a kit these parts tend to be simplified into a flat shape, because an injection mold cannot manage a fine three-dimensional structure. The set supplies the part in three-dimensional form and matches the early type of pedals. It is neither a model of the aircraft nor a complete interior; it is one partial add-on for 1:48 scale.
The pedals are visible only when someone really looks into the cockpit, that is, on a model with the canopy slid back, with the side doors open, or in a part-built diorama scene. On the Bf-109 that is nothing unusual, because the hinged canopy is one of the typical features modelers work with. If you build the cockpit closed, the set will naturally come into its own less.
The Bf-109E, nicknamed the Emil, was the main German fighter of the Battle of Britain period. Compared with the later versions it had squarer wing shapes and a different cockpit arrangement, and inside it also differs in small items, among them the type of the pedals. The difference between the early and the later arrangement is one of the details modelers watch for when they build a particular machine.
The parts are small, so work over a mat and with tweezers so that nothing gets lost. Clean the surface before fitting and cut any casting remnants off with a sharp knife. Glue with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue laid on with a wooden stick or a piece of wire, not straight from the bottle. It pays to paint them before they go in, while the part is still freely accessible.
