A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale for a model of the attack helicopter Mil Mi-24A. An accessory for your own kit; the model is not part of the delivery.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-24A is an early version of the Soviet attack helicopter, which differed from the other machines of its day in that besides its armament it also carried troops. The crew sat under a single large glazed cover; the typical pair of stations one behind and below the other came only with the later versions. Short stub wings carry the pylons and in fast flight take over part of the lift, so that the main rotor is loaded somewhat less.
Photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Thin sheet makes it possible to do things that always come out oversized in plastic: intake grilles, loops, buckles, boarding steps and flat trims. On the Mi-24A you can see inside through the wide glazing and through the side doors alike, so fine detail will not be lost. Which kit the set completes, and where each part belongs, is given in the maker's instructions, in which the order of work is set out as well.
Work over a light surface with raised edges, or a part that springs away is lost. Cut through the fret tab holding the part with a sharp blade, and do not tear it off. Lead the bends along the etched grooves and close them along their whole length at once, so that the sheet does not ripple. Try each part dry first and sand the plastic underneath it down as needed. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount; any excess floods the fine relief. At the end degrease the metal and spray it over with a primer for metal.
The package contains a photo-etched fret. The model, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
