A resin detail set from Aires that replaces the landing gear bays on a model of the Soviet MiG-21 fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers. The parts are accurately cast in resin and bring depth, sharp edges and the fine structure of the runs and stiffeners into the gear bays, which plastic out of a mold usually cannot offer.
The MiG-21 was a Soviet light supersonic fighter with a characteristic delta wing and an axial nose intake. It is among the most widespread and longest-serving jet fighters in history and in many versions it was used by dozens of air forces around the world, including the former Czechoslovakia.
These are resin parts for the advanced. First wash them in warm soapy water to remove the mold release residue, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and clean up the surfaces. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Protect your airways when sanding resin, as the dust is harmful to health. Dry-fit the bays before gluing and adjust the seating.
The set does not contain the model itself, glue or paints. It is intended for completing an existing kit in the given scale.
