The turned metal MASTER 1:48 MiG-21bis (Fishbed L/N) pitot boom replaces the plastic sensor on the nose of a model and is both more accurate and more durable.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal detail part, not a model of an aircraft. It replaces the plastic pitot boom on the nose of a MiG-21bis model in 1:48 scale. The metal part is more accurate and more durable than plastic.
The MiG-21bis was the last major production version of the Soviet MiG-21 fighter, built from the 1970s. It carried a more powerful engine and modernized avionics. Above the nose of the fuselage projected a long pitot boom with several sensors, a typical element of the MiG-21 silhouette. It is exactly this long slender boom that tends to be the most vulnerable spot on plastic kits, and bending or breaking it spoils an otherwise successful model.
Cut off the plastic boom and glue the metal part in its place with cyanoacrylate. A metal boom takes the handling of a finished model without bending and keeps a perfectly straight axis. Before painting, go over the part with a base coat (a primer) for better adhesion, and once it is glued check that it follows the axis of the nose.
This is not a complete model. The part does not include glue, paints or a kit.
