Markings for the Polish MiG-29s in the new scheme, the first part of a line devoted to machines carrying the tradition of the Kosciuszko squadron.
Responsibility details are not available.
The tradition this set recalls reaches back to the volunteers who flew in Polish colors after the First World War and continues with the famous fighter squadron that fought over England. The emblem with the Kosciuszko motif therefore ranks among the best-known badges in European aviation.
Today's bearer of that history is the MiG-29, which the Polish Air Force has used since the late 1980s. The machines have been through several modifications, and their appearance changed along with them: from the original Eastern scheme to a modern gray finish with a lower visual signature.
The sheet is designated as part one and deals with precisely the newer form of the coloring. A modeler who wants to build a Fulcrum as it looks today will find the starting set of markings here; the follow-up part then offers further machines from the same period.
The MiG-29 has large flat areas on the fins and the leading-edge sections, where the film behaves very obligingly. The region around the air intakes and the wing root is trickier; have a decal softener ready there and work in stages. The scale of the sheet is 1:48.
Decals do not like damp or direct light. Leave them in the original packaging, store them flat and away from heat, or the carrier film grows brittle in time and breaks when soaked. Older sheets that have already yellowed can often be saved by a few hours in daylight by a window. With a new sheet you do not have to deal with this, but it pays to watch the storage from the start.
