1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21UM BASIC kabuki mask (Trumpeter)

New Ware 1:48 Mikoyan MiG-21UM BASIC Kabuki Masks

Self-adhesive painting masks of kabuki paper (washi) for models of the two-seat MiG-21UM trainer in 1:48 scale. The BASIC level covers the basic masking - the frames of the canopy glazing and the wheels. It is an aid for clean spraying, not a set of model parts. The masks are cut for the Trumpeter kit.

The real subject

The MiG-21UM is the two-seat trainer version of the Soviet supersonic MiG-21 fighter. It keeps the performance and the basic systems of the single-seat version but has a lengthened canopy with two seats for pilot training. It was widely used in many air forces around the world.

Use

• Press the masks onto degreased glazing, smooth the edges down and spray the canopy frames.
• Kabuki tape follows curved surfaces, holds a crisp edge and leaves no adhesive behind when removed.
• Suitable for airbrush and spray can alike; remove the mask while the paint has not yet hardened.
• Cover the remaining areas of the glazing with liquid mask or tape.

Who the set is for

For modelers who want straight canopy frames and clean wheels without laborious hand masking. Intended for MiG-21UM models in the scale given; the kit and the paints are not included.
