The DSPIAE Tungsten Steel Panel Line Scriber Push Broach 0.4 mm is a push scriber of tungsten steel with a chisel edge 0.4 mm wide for scribing panel lines and grooves.
Responsibility details are not available.
A tungsten steel tool with a flat edge 0.4 mm wide, which is guided over the surface in one direction and removes material rather than pushing it aside. A width between the finest and the middle values of the range is a compromise for lines that should read clearly once highlighted but still not look coarse.
Most modelers start with the back of a scalpel, a compass needle or a snapped-off piece of saw blade. All these substitutes share one weakness: they have no defined width of cut. The groove widens according to how hard you happen to be pushing and at what angle you hold the tool, and over a long stroke it shows. A tool with an edge ground to a given width removes that variable, so you can concentrate on guiding the stroke alone.
For the modeler who has already tried scribing with improvised tools and keeps running into uneven grooves. The scriber is also a sensible first step toward gradually getting several widths and picking them according to the particular place on the model.
The tool is sharp. Work on a mat, guide the cut away from your body and protect the tip when putting it away, so that it is not knocked against other tools.
