1:48 Mil Mi-8MT one-sided express fit mask for Zvezda

Art Scale 1:48 masking set, Mil Mi-8MT Hip

A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks in quality kabuki film, not a kit. The parts are numbered and come with instructions giving their exact placement. The set is cut to fit the plastic Mi-8MT helicopter kit from Zvezda in 1:48 scale. The single-sided version covers the outer side of the glazing and is enough where inner masking is not needed.

The real subject

The Mil Mi-8MT, part of the helicopter family known under the NATO reporting name Hip, is a Soviet and Russian twin-engined medium transport helicopter with more powerful engines. It has an extensively glazed flight deck and side windows, whose masking by hand is slow work.

Use

• Transfer the mask with tweezers onto clean glass and press the edges down.
• Spray the frames in thin coats to prevent paint bleed.
• Work window by window according to the numbering.
• Once dry, peel the masks off carefully.

Who the set is for

• Builders of helicopters for whom masking the outer side is enough.
• Modelers looking for quick and clean masking of windows.

The set contains no paints and no model. It is an accessory to a plastic kit.
